Software and Systems Engineering Standards: Verification and Validation of Systems, Software, and Hardware

  • Online

This course walks the learner through IEEE Standard 1012 on verification and validation of systems for both software and hardware. Topics include basic concepts related to verification and validation (V&V), relationship of the V&V processes to the other systems engineering technical processes and to the systems engineering life cycle, the application of the V&V process within a system, examples of integrity levels, approaches to verification, and validation testing.

What will you learn:

  • Define the benefits and purpose of the verification and validation processes
  • Describe the application of the verification and validation processes within a system of interest
  • Explain how integrity levels are used to tailor the verification and validation effort
  • Understand how to use the IEEE 1012 Standard
  • Describe various approaches to verification and validation testing

This course is part of the following course program:
