Live Virtual Training  Available On Demand

Date: Wednesday, 30 September 2026

Time: 11:30 AM ET - 2:30 PM ET

In today’s rapidly evolving AI landscape, generative AI is rapidly reshaping how engineering professionals communicate, collaborate, and make decisions in global technical workplaces. Effective AI use requires more than simple prompting skills; it requires practical, human-centered strategies to ensure clarity, accuracy, and professional accountability.

This three-hour live virtual training introduces practical, human-centered strategies for using generative AI responsibly in engineering contexts, focusing on audience-aware prompting, technical summarization, and responsible collaboration.

This live virtual training event is part of the 2026 IEEE eLearning Front List. Access to the live training and future on-demand content is available via IEEE Xplore and the IEEE Learning Network to customers who purchase the training or the full IEEE eLearning Library collection.

Attendees will learn how to:

  • Use generative AI more effectively and responsibly for engineering and technical communication tasks in professional workplace contexts.
  • Design prompts that reflect audience, purpose, genre, organizational context, and technical communication goals.
  • Critically evaluate and revise AI-generated outputs for clarity, accuracy, professionalism, and contextual appropriateness.
  • Adapt AI-assisted communication for diverse stakeholders, including technical teams, managers, clients, and cross-cultural collaborators.
  • Use generative AI to summarize complex technical information for decision-making and non-technical audiences.
  • Recognize common risks and limitations of generative AI, including hallucinations, generic outputs, hidden assumptions, and inappropriate automation.
  • Apply human rhetorical judgment and ethical decision-making when integrating AI into engineering communication workflows.
  • Develop reusable AI-assisted communication strategies that support more efficient, consistent, and responsible professional collaboration
