Monitoring and Evaluation
UNICEF defines Monitoring as: “The systematic and continuous assessment of the progress of a piece of work over time, which checks that things are going to plan and enables adjustments to be made in a methodical way. It helps to ensure that projects are moving towards their objectives.”
Evaluation is defined as: “Project evaluation is a systematic process of assessing the design, implementation, and outcomes of a project. It involves collecting and analyzing information to determine the project's effectiveness, efficiency, impact, and sustainability.”
Both Monitoring and Evaluation form an integral part of finalizing and sustaining a humanitarian engineering project. Even though it might be the last thing that a project team considers, it still forms a critical part of the project cycle for technology for impact."
