Mark Siira

Mark Siira is the Director of Utility Compliance and Solutions for ComRent International, a leader in load testing solutions for utility-scale systems. Mark is the Chair of IEEE SCC 21. In this role, he leads the development of all interconnection and interoperability standards for Photovoltaics, Dispersed Generation, and Energy Storage. Vice-Chair for IEEE P1547 Revision. He is also a member of the UL Standards Technical Panels 1741 (Inverters), UL2200 (Generators) and 6171 (Wind farms interconnection).


Mark has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Degree from GMI Engineering and Management Institute (now Kettering University), and an MBA from Harvard University.

David Narang

David Narang is a Principal Engineer in the Power Systems Engineering Center at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL).  A main focus area for David is to support the development and adoption of interconnection and interoperability standards for distributed energy systems and he is currently serving as the Working Group Chair for the full revision of IEEE 1547.  Prior to joining NREL in June, 2015, David spent 14 years as an engineer focusing on distributed energy integration at an electric utility in the Southwestern U.S.
