Coil Design and Analysis

  • Online

This course reviews the various types of coil design for maximum coupling coefficient, including circular, rectangular, flux pipe, double D, and DDQ coils. Measurements of coil inductance will be discussed. Topics covered include: Coil layout structures; Field analysis and numerical analysis; Calculation of mutual and self-inductance; Measurement of coupling coefficient; and Design for handling of misalignment.

What you will learn:

  • Describe various methods to study wireless power transfer (WPT) systems and their purposes: Equivalent circuit analysis, compensation methods, and electromagnetic tools.
  • Summarize basic compensation topologies
  • Calculate basic indicators in WPT systems such as active power, reactive power, and transmission efficiency
  • Explain the coupling simulation of electromagnetic and circuit systems
