The course explains the differences between information security and data privacy and provide examples of various types of data breaches. It examines ways to ensure cyber security, prevent various types of cyber attacks, the various types of false information and motivations of people who spread it, and methods of securing smart cities. Dr. Madhusudan Singh is a Senior Member of IEEE and an ACM Distinguished speaker. He has conducted extensive research on smart cities and automotive cyber security for which he has authored an IEEE eLearning course. He has also conducted research on artificial intelligence and blockchain technology as applied in the field of cyber security. Dr. Singh is actively involved in a blockchain technology-based startup and serves as a series editor for blockchain technologies in Springer Nature. He also conducts research on wireless communications technologies and software engineering. Today, he teaches as an Associate Professor of Information Security at the University of Tartu in Estonia.
