Basics of Power System Dynamics

  • Online

This talk will describe the various time scales associated with power system dynamics and the fundamental phases of dynamic response in both electrical and mechanical systems that are relevant to operations. The two control problems for voltage magnitude and frequency will be presented in the context of mathematical models and applications in the time scales of interest. Electric power engineers in utilities, government, manufacturers, and universities will benefit from this presentation.
